About Us

Built on Experience. Reimagined for What’s Next.

QC Flex is a dynamic, solutions‑driven social enterprise based in the Quad Cities, delivering customizable business services while advancing the power and value of an inclusive workforce. We partner with businesses, government entities, and organizations to streamline operations, solve logistical challenges, and deliver high‑quality results—flexibly, efficiently, and professionally.

While QC Flex officially launched as a new brand in 2024, our roots span more than seven decades. That history informs who we are today, but QC Flex stands forward‑facing and future‑focused: a modern business built to meet today’s demands while creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with and without disabilities.

Our entire team's aim is to deliver high-quality products and services that meet and exceed expectations and increase customer satisfaction. QC Flex utilizes an inclusive workforce where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Our Story: From Workshop to Social Enterprise

The origins of QC Flex trace back to 1952, when vocational work opportunities for people with disabilities began in a small, community‑based setting. Over time—through iterations known as Opportunity Center Industries and later Arc Industries—the model expanded in scale and capability, employing dozens of individuals and supporting essential business services throughout the region.

As workforce expectations, disability policy, and community values evolved, so did we. Beginning in the mid‑2010s, our organization undertook a deliberate and transformative shift away from segregated employment and subminimum wages. With strategic planning, external expertise, and a renewed commitment to inclusion, Arc Industries was re‑envisioned.

In 2024, QC Flex emerged as the result of that transformation—no longer a program, but a business. Purposefully branded, operationally independent, and structured for growth, QC Flex reflects a belief that inclusion and professionalism are not competing values, but complementary strengths.

What We Believe

QC Flex operates on a simple, powerful premise: when people are empowered, businesses thrive.

As a social enterprise, QC Flex uses a dual‑purpose business model—generating revenue through competitive services while reinvesting in people, workforce development, and community impact. Our work supports the broader mission of The Arc of the Quad Cities Area, while our day‑to‑day operations function with the accountability, responsiveness, and performance expectations of a modern service provider.

In practice, this means:

  • An inclusive workforce where employees are paid at least minimum wage
  • A professional environment that prioritizes quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • Ongoing training, employment supports, and career exploration opportunities
  • Business partnerships grounded in trust, flexibility, and results

Our Mission

Our mission at QC Flex is to provide dynamic, customizable business solutions through an approachable, professional, and reliable client experience, while modeling what an inclusive workforce can achieve.

We work alongside decision‑makers to understand their goals and deliver solutions that are prompt, efficient, and tailored to their needs. At the same time, we create meaningful employment that promotes independence, personal growth, and community connection.
